Dr. Loong-Tak Lim is an Associate Professor at the Food Science Department of the University of Guelph, and the team leader of the Packaging and Biomaterial Group. His work involves food packaging, electrospinning, encapsulation, biopolymer films and coatings, and coffee technology. Dr. Lim holds a BSc in Food Science from Acadia University, and received his PhD in Food Science from the University of Guelph in 1999.
He has prior experience in industry with Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd., Bolton, Canada, where he worked for six years in packaging design, injection moulding and blow moulding technology. In his current role at the University of Guelph, he also teaches several courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, including Food Packaging and Food Engineering Principles.
