Dr. Naresh Thevathasan works for the University of Guelph as Manager, Agroforestry Research and Development and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Environmental Sciences and also in the School of Environmental Design and Development. He is also the Project Manager for a multi-million dollar Development Project in Ghana (west Africa) and a former Project Director for another DFATD project in south India. In November 2011, he was awarded an honorary D.Sc. degree by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana in recognition of his contribution towards improved livelihoods for the poor and graduate student training. He received his Ph.D in agroforestry from the University of Guelph, Canada in 1998. Since then, he is actively involved with agroforestry and woody biomass research endeavors in southern Ontario and in above indicated developing countries. He has to his credit more than 30 international research publications and 5 book chapters.
