Andrea Lazzeri | Pisa University | Italy
Prof. Andrea Lazzeri is Head of the Center for Materials Science and Engineering of the University of Pisa.
He started as a Chemical Engineer (University of Pisa). Then in 1991, he obtained his PhD in Advanced Materials (Cranfield University). In 1984, he became a researcher at the University of Pisa. In 1999, he was a visiting scientist at MIT, Boston. In 2002, he became an Associate Professor at the University of Pisa and later, in 2008, became a Full Professor in the department of Civil and Industrial Engineering of same university, where he teaches Materials Science and Engineering, biobased polymers and composites, composites, plastic processing and polymers characterization. He is also the professor of Materials Science and Technology in the Naval Academy in Livorno.
During the last two decades, his major research projects have dealt with processing and mechanical properties of polymer-matrix and ceramic-matrix composites and biobased and/or biodegradable polymers for environmental applications. He has been coordinator of three European projects: Forbioplast, Helm and NanoCathedral.
He has published about 100 scientific communications with around 1700 citations (H-Index > 20).
