Dr. Paridah Tahir is the Director of the Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products at the Universiti Putra Malaysia. Dr. Tahir received her BSc and MSc in Wood Science and Technology from Mississippi State University, USA, and her PhD in Wood Chemistry from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. She has won multiple awards for her work, including the National Standardization Award 2015 from the Department of Standards, Malaysia, 2013 Top Research Scientists Malaysia, and Woman Inventor of the Year at the Pameran Malaysia Technology Expo 2009. She is the author of many peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and developed standards, and holds multiple patents in her area.
